Legal Notice
Site Ownership and Identity
The Site is not a separate legal entity or consulting organization. Original content published through the Site is developed and maintained under the Company’s editorial and technical direction.
References to Design for X™ as an organization refer to the consulting firm operating at designforx.com. References to Design for X (DfX) as a methodology refer to the engineering and management framework used to incorporate downstream requirements into upstream decisions.
The Design for X™ Technical Resource Library is a coordinated collection of discipline-specific technical resources published and maintained by the Company. Individual library domains and subdomains are components of that library and do not represent separate consulting firms or independent publishers.
Informational Purpose
The information presented on the Site is intended to explain general concepts, methods, principles, and practices associated with the Design for X discipline addressed by the Site and related product-development, capital-project, manufacturing, operational, and lifecycle methodologies.
The content is not intended to constitute engineering, legal, financial, regulatory, safety, procurement, or other professional advice for any specific organization, product, process, facility, or project.
Successful application of a Design for X discipline depends on the circumstances of the organization and may require analysis of actual losses, project defects, product requirements, equipment, suppliers, manufacturing processes, operating conditions, logistics networks, regulatory obligations, lifecycle risks, organizational structure, and other company-specific factors.
Public resources within the Design for X™ Technical Resource Library do not themselves constitute a client-specific DfX framework, Project Defect Analysis, design-review checklist, technical standard, validation plan, or implementation program. Client-specific deliverables are developed according to the scope and requirements of an applicable professional engagement.
Nothing on the Site should be interpreted as a substitute for competent professional judgment or an organization’s own engineering, quality, safety, legal, procurement, management, or approval processes.
No Professional Relationship
Accessing the Site, using its content, communicating through a website form, or contacting the Company does not by itself create a client, consulting, engineering, fiduciary, or other professional relationship.
A professional engagement exists only when established through an applicable written agreement with the Company.
No Guarantee of Results
Examples of potential benefits, outcomes, methods, operating principles, loss categories, or applications described on the Site are illustrative. Actual results depend on the relevant facts, conditions, decisions, resources, implementation quality, and other organization-specific circumstances.
The Company does not guarantee that use of any concept described on the Site will produce a particular cost reduction, performance improvement, risk reduction, schedule result, compliance outcome, or other business result.
Intellectual Property and Permitted Use
Unless otherwise indicated, original text, graphics, diagrams, photographs, audiovisual materials, page design, and other original expression published on the Site are owned by or used with permission of the Company and may be protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
The Company does not claim ownership of public-domain facts, established engineering or management disciplines, third-party standards, or underlying ideas, principles, methods, systems, or processes merely because they are described, organized, explained, or illustrated on the Site.
Visitors may view and reference the Site for personal, educational, scholarly, and legitimate business purposes. Except as permitted by applicable law or authorized in writing by the Company, original Site content may not be reproduced, republished, distributed, sold, incorporated into commercial training materials, or used to create a substantially similar commercial resource.
Brief quotations used for commentary, scholarship, education, news reporting, criticism, or other lawful purposes should identify the relevant source and provide appropriate attribution to the Design for X™ Technical Resource Library.
The Site may discuss established methodologies, published research, standards, companies, authors, trademarks, and other third-party materials. Such references are provided for identification, historical discussion, commentary, criticism, or educational purposes and do not imply ownership by the Company.
Trademarks and Methodology Names
Design for X™ is used as a trademark by Design for X LLC.

Other product names, company names, trademarks, and service marks appearing on the Site are the property of their respective owners.

The Site may reference historical publications, technical standards, established engineering and management methodologies, professional organizations, authors, companies, and other sources to explain the development and application of Design for X practices.
Where original Site content or graphics are based conceptually on published research or third-party source material, the source may be identified in the accompanying text, caption, reference, or citation.
A reference to a source does not imply sponsorship, endorsement, certification, authorization, or affiliation with the cited author, publisher, professional society, university, company, government body, or other organization.
